
About the Tech Lab
Located on the lower level of the library, the Tech Lab is a welcoming and engaging space with resources to tap into your creativity and tools for creating new media and digitizing old media—from hardware and software to equipment and helpful staff.

In the collection

Audio Recorder
Audio recorder kit. Includes Zoom H6essential audio recorder, SD card, mount, and case.

Chromebook
Kit includes a Lenovo 100e Chromebook Gen 4. If you don't have WiFi, each device can connect to the Internet via AT&T mobile data.

DSLR camera
A Canon Rebel DSLR camera kit. Includes lens, battery charger, two batteries and memory card in a camera bag.


Mini Shotgun Microphone
Kit includes a Røde VideoMicro II microphone, mount, connecting cord, microphone windscreen, and a case.

Projection Screen
A portable, quick set up, self-standing projection screen in a hard-shell carrying case.

Projector
Epson H849A Projector kit. 3700 lumens for indoor or nighttime projection. Includes projector, HDMI and VGA connectors. Comes in a carrying case with remote.

Shotgun Microphone
Sennheiser MKE600 Shotgun Microphone Kit. Comes with microphone, windscreen, shock mount and XLR cord in case.

Smartphone Recording Kit
Kit includes Sennheiser’s compact MKE 400 compact shotgun microphone, clamp for a smartphone, and mini tripod. The smartphone clamp allows for both portrait and landscape orientation. Includes windscreen for microphone.


USB Microphone
Kit includes a Logitech Snowball microphone, table-top tripod, cord, and case.

Vixia Camcorder
A Canon Vixia HF R800 camcorder kit. Comes with camera, charging cable, memory card, rechargable batteries in a camera bag.
Learning opportunities
This introductory level class will show you the Adobe Creative Cloud tools available in the library’s Tech Lab. Adobe Creative Cloud includes apps used for photography, video editing, graphic design, audio production and more.

Digitization services
In addition to creating new content, we have tools to digitize analog media of various formats. View a list of available equipment below. If you’ll need help digitizing your media, please book a Tech Tutoring appointment.
- Audio cassette players (cassette, micro cassette, and reel to reel)
- A phonograph record player (vinyl 45s and 33s)
- Video tape players (VHS, VHS-c, miniDV tapes, HDV tapes, Digital8/Video8/hi8 tapes)
- A flatbed scanner (documents, photos, and transparent media like slides or film negatives and positives)
- A batch scanner for printed photos
