Come join us in the Tech Lab for a variety computer and technology classes. The Tech Lab is a computing and teaching space on the library’s ground floor that has tools for creating new media and digitizing old media. The workstations here are all Mac computers.
April 21 - Intro to AI: Curious about artificial intelligence but not sure where to start? This beginner-friendly class breaks down the basics of AI and explores the growing world of generative AI, the technology behind tools like chatbots, image generators, and writing assistants.
In this session, you'll learn how AI works, what generative AI can (and can't) do, and how to evaluate these tools with a critical eye. We'll also take an honest look at the real-world concerns surrounding AI, including issues of bias, privacy, misinformation, and the environmental impact of these rapidly evolving technologies.
