Participants will learn both the history and the how-to in using fabric, puppetry, and textiles in social justice work. They will then put their knowledge to work creating large puppets during these biweekly workshops. We hope to debut the puppets during the 2024 Chapel Hill winter holiday parade and 2025 MLK-Day celebrations.

In the spring, participants will create banners for 2025 Juneteenth Celebrations.

This program will be lead by Megan Winget (textile artist & UNC-SILS prof) and Danita Mason-Hogans.
