Friday, January 23 and Saturday, January 24: The library is currently scheduled to be open regular hours. 

Sunday, January 25 and Monday, January 26: Chapel Hill Public Library will be closed due to hazardous winter weather forecasts. All programs are cancelled. If you have items due soon, please hold on to them if possible. For updates on library hours and programs Tuesday and beyond, please check our website and social media.

Program Description

Event Details

Ballet and Books is a national, non-profit organization striving to reduce the literacy gap through the hybrid storytelling of dance and reading. The program is once a week for 8 weeks. Children ages 6-9 will experience a 45-minute dance lesson and a 45-minute session of one-on-one literacy mentorship with a student from UNC-Chapel Hill. 
 

All children will receive a book and dancewear for their end-of-semester showcase. This is a free opportunity.
