Here we go again! It looks like more winter weather is in store for us this weekend. A winter storm warning will be in effect from Friday at 4pm through Sunday afternoon, and a cold weather advisory from early Saturday morning to early Sunday morning. The National Weather Service is forecasting snow in Chapel Hill. Visit weather.gov/rah for the latest forecast.
Library hours and updates
| Saturday, January 31 | The library and book drop will be closed due to hazardous weather forecasts. All Saturday programs are cancelled. Since Saturday was meant to be the last day of our Winter Reading program, we're extending our raffle and prize pick-up. We'll draw our prize raffle on February 9, and you can continue picking up your mugs (while supplies last) until then. |
| Sunday, February 1 | The library and book drop will be closed due to hazardous weather forecasts. All Sunday programs are cancelled. |
If you have items due soon, please hold on to them, if possible. This helps reduce book drop staffing during unsafe conditions. Remember: we have no late fees! 😊 Enjoy the library from home with eBooks, and eAudiobooks through the Libby app, and explore digital resources on our website.
The Cold Weather Shelter that is usually open on cold nights at 828 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. will move to the Seymour Center tonight and be open until 7 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 2. The Seymour Center is located at 2551 Homestead Rd.
