Event Details
Quiet your mind and awaken your senses as we mark the winter solstice with a guided walk inspired by shinrin-yoku (forest bathing), a restorative Japanese practice of nature immersion. You will be invited to embrace the present moment as we use our senses of sight, hearing, touch, smell, and taste to experience the forest. The pace is slow, and the distance is short. You will leave feeling refreshed, enlivened, and connected with the natural world.
Your guide: Jane Saiers of RambleRill Farm is a forest therapy guide, farmer, and horticultural therapist based in Hillsborough.
What to Expect:
A leisurely walk over uneven surfaces with stops along the way to engage with nature.
Wear:
Comfortable clothing for being outside and closed-toed shoes.
Where to Meet:
We'll gather in the outdoor classroom in Pritchard Park.
In the event of inclement weather, this program may be cancelled.
