Find your place in space!

Curious about the cosmos? Amazed by the scale of the solar system? Ever pondered your place in the universe? If your answer is "yes,"—join us for the 13th Annual Statewide Star Party at Chapel Hill Public Library on Friday, April 4, 2025, from 4–6pm, for an out-of-this-world experience designed to help you find “Your Place in Space!”

In partnership with Morehead Planetarium, we’re bringing the wonders of the universe to you with activities for all ages:

  • Learn how telescopes work and look through them with our friends at C.H.A.O.S. (Chapel Hill Astronomical and Observational Society).
  • Take part in hands-on crafts and demonstrations, like solar system bracelets, to explore the scale of the universe.
  • Take a Story Walk and enjoy space-themed book activities.
  • Listen to the sounds of the universe and experience space in a whole new way.

Come explore “Your Place in Space” with us!

Free and open to all—no registration required.
