Friday, January 23 and Saturday, January 24: The library is currently scheduled to be open regular hours. 

Sunday, January 25 and Monday, January 26: Chapel Hill Public Library will be closed due to hazardous winter weather forecasts. All programs are cancelled. If you have items due soon, please hold on to them if possible. For updates on library hours and programs Tuesday and beyond, please check our website and social media.

Program Description

Event Details

We’re going on an adventure! Join us for a magical, hobbit-inspired hike through “Middle Earth” (Pritchard Park). We’ll keep watch for Ringwraiths, Orcs, spiders, and dragons while we traverse a one-mile loop. We’ll end our adventure in the outdoor classroom with hobbit-inspired treats. Costumes welcome, suitable footwear encouraged. Trails are unpaved and may not suit kids under 7.
