Program Description

Event Details

In celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the Chapel Hill-Carrboro NAACP, we invite you to the Umoja (the Swahili word for “unity”) Read-In, where community members will share readings, songs, and spoken word related to or written by descendants of the African Diaspora. The event will highlight the culture, cuisine, and literature of the African Diaspora. African drumming performances will take place between readings.

Join us for food, music, and fellowship after the event on the library terrace. Guests are encouraged to wear masks.

The event is free to attend but registration is required.
